The Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security is excited to announce a professional development education series dedicated to Chief Information Security Officer leadership challenges. The Healthcare CISO Boot Camp will be held in Phoenix, Ariz., from Nov. 6-9, and will begin following the close of the AEHIS Fall Summit. This three-day professional development course is a step forward for AEHIS in offering healthcare-specific guidance to information security leaders and their direct reports.
AEHIS Board Chair Will Long, vice president and CISO at Children’s Health in DallasSM, remarked on this new offering for AEHIS members. “The CISO boot camp is an exciting opportunity to address the unique challenges of information security leaders in the healthcare space. This unique sector of the healthcare industry has specific stressors and needs that a dedicated education program like the Boot Camp series is positioned to perfectly address.”
The inaugural AEHIS Healthcare CISO Boot Camp will follow the AEHIS Fall Summit, rounding out a week of AEHIS education and networking. Confirmed faculty for this three-day event include Dan Bowden, CISO at Sentara Health, Theresa Meadows, senior vice president and CIO at Cook Children’s Health Care System, and Will Long, with more to follow.
“This new offering is a unique opportunity for CISOs and information security leaders across healthcare,” remarked CHIME Vice President of Education Tim Stettheimer. “The Healthcare CISO Boot Camp is modeled off the successful CHIME CIO Boot Camp and will feature a detailed look at case studies relevant to information security leaders and their direct reports. Hundreds of CIOs and leaders in healthcare have found the CHIME CIO Boot Camp relevant and career defining, and we look forward to CISOs sharing that experience.”
The three-day Healthcare CISO Boot Camp is open to CISOs, information security leaders and their direct reports. CHIME and CHIME Affiliate members interested in attending must active their complementary membership in AEHIS but are welcome to participate as well.
